According to Matthew, Jesus' last words were: "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matt 27:46). According to Mark he just gave a loud cry and died (Mk 15:37). According to Luke he said, "Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit" (Lk 23:46). According to John, Jesus' last words were: "It is finished." (Jn 19:30). It seems like Jesus' words were not accurately recorded.

Well that is before He was crucified, but the Bible goes on to say that he rose again and appeared to many people, so I guess His last words on Earth were actually in Acts 1:7-8
"It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put in his own power. But you will receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come on you and you will be witnesses for me in both Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the farthest ends of the earth."

My personal belief is that it is "It is finished." John was there that day beside Jesus' mother , Mary so that is what I am basing my answer. It is finished seems also more logical because it gives an air of total accomplishment of doing God's will with complete obedience even unto death.

I've always thought interesting the detail that the bystanders didn't quite catch the 'My God, my God' exclamation. So the question must arise, why was the gospel writer so sure of it? Evidently he used inspiration, creativity, call it what you will.

According to the the chart given at the website (below), you can chart and cross reference the sequences in the various gospels to arrive at the following conclusion (they explain their logic, so you can work it out for yourself if you want to):
---------------------------------------
...You may want to compare your answer with this one before going any further.
You should have found that Jesus said:
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
"It is finished."
"Father, into your hands I commit my spirit."
in that order.

No. very last names did not truly exist in lately. "Christ" became the Greek identify given to Jesus which means "the Messiah" or "the Savior." Jesus became his Greek call; Joshua became his Aramaic call. R.C.C.M.

I've heard the book of Thomas is the most accurate but its not really a book the Vatican endorses.

I don't think anyone could tell you that for sure. It's impossible, today, to know what, exactly, transpired, or what was said.

" I love a parade?" Or, " Judas, why don't you ever pick up the check? This will be the last supper I spend with you." The tape recorder was out of double A batteries. Memories sometimes fail us.
