I am wondering if anyone knows where fashion clothes sold in markets are bought from? you also find the stores on ebay selling the clothes.
My best friend is starting up a small market stall and I thought it would be brilliant if she incorporated clothes with it, I have tried to google it but not found anything.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Usually made in sweat shops in third world countries - that's why they can be sold so cheaply, the people that make them get paid peanuts.

As an avid market and thrift shop buyer i wondered this too so i asked a stall holder once.
Some buy their products from wholesalers, some sell their own belongings, some come across some products which have 'fallen off the back of a lorry' if you know what i mean :-)

If she wants to develop a following then i would suggest searching out fashion graduates and selling those pieces. Check portobello rd market in Notting Hill or Spital Fields Market near Liverpool St station ( not sure where your friend plans to set up but both are in London)

You need to look for fashion wholesalers or importers - usually a city has a textile district where these companies do business. However, I agree with the first poster who said that many of these clothes are made using exploitative techniques, so your friend should consider the ethical stance of selling such garments.

Hi there - my dad has a market stall but doesn't sell clothes, as far as I can understand the clothes stalls have contacts around the world and often make trips abroad to places like Paris and China to source suppliers. There are also wholesalers around the UK that they buy from as well.

They are imported mostly. Some are clothes that the big stores reject.
Your friend will have to find a wholesaler who imports and distributes.

Some sell second hand clothes which are bought from charity shops or from ebay.
