Yes, there was a second season. They didn't air all the season 2 episodes in America however. There were about 8 left when it got canceled.

Where I live, it went off for a while, then came back and continued with the storyline, so I thought that was the second season! Now, after reading what others wrote, I don't know if that was a second season or not.

Season 2 of Joey was put on hiatus and never brought back. 8 of them never went on air.
Too bad because I want to know what happened! :(
