End of July last yr, the Dr at St Thomas Hospital Gynaecology Unit told me I could not have a baby unless I operated to remove my hymen as it kept closing up no matter how much sex I was having. I was bleeding alot etc etc. But I decided against having the operation.

So anyways we stopped using contraceptives (I am married btw) and a month later I took a pregnancy test and it came out positive.
It took us both by surprise but lil baby is very loved already by all in our families..

Any one else have similar experieces with OBGYN's that tell u that you cant have a baby and you fell pregnant anyways?

well, i MYSELF have never been told that BUT i DO have a friend. she has some hormonal problems and couldn't even menstrate/ovulate WITHOUT the help of medicine. she also had some severe indometreosis. the dr told her there was absolutly NO way she could EVER had a baby. well about 2 years ago she miraculously found herself pregnant! WOAH! she was on the pill too (to help her to menstrate) they are thrilled with their little girl! then, thinking that was a fluke it would NEVER happen again, her and her husband didn't see the point in using protection, and last week they just gave birth to baby #2!

things happen! miraculous things even.. :) congrats by the way@

first of all i would change you ob doctor, and then i would like to congrat you on the upcoimng child. I have known of others that they said could not have childern, and they did. Sometimes you just try to hard, and it takes a bit longer, plus you were on the pill. So yea you can get pg that way when just going off of the pill. I would go to another doctor and make sure you are pregnant, and get the care you need for you and the babys sake. Good luck to all of you.

yes i was told i was not going to be able to get pregnant by a few doctors. at least without surgery to get my fibroids removed.. and even then, there would be so much scar tissue that the egg may not latch on to my uterin wall.

well im 21 weeks pregnant right now. She is an angel in deed DH is more excited then i am.

congrats on your little baby!

It happens all the time - just proves doctors don't REMOTELY know everything there is to know about the human body. I'm not faulting them - it's just an incredibly complex biological machine that we walk around in, and they're doing the best they can, but there is a lot left to learn.
