me and my boyfriend have just split up due to wanting different things. We lived together and we were together 2 and a half years...
Last night he had a dream where we had split up but time had passed.... He had a new girlfriend but she was me..... but it wasnt me if that makes sense, she was identical to me.
She was in the car with him and he drove over to my dads house to try and get in contact with me. My dad let him in and i was in the garden sunbathing...
I had sunglasses on and didnt seem that bothered he was there and my grandad was splashing him with water...
What do you think this means?

he seems as tho he still wants to be around you. Did he come to say he wanted 2 b with you or just to be around you?
Maybe its just he wants to be around you still and that there is still a connection but maybe not a spark between you if you get what i am saying?

I have no idea what his dream means, but the fact that he told you about it speaks volumes. Dreams about someone are pretty intimate and you don't just tell anyone - I think he's been thinking about you and wondering if he's made a mistake but isn't brave enough to come out and say it, so he's giving you a scenario in a dream where you are back together, but not quite -which allows him an "out" if you're horrified by the suggestion. I think that by taking such an interest in his dream, you're not quite over him either - why not try again and see where you end up?

well... for the most part, it just looks like some random dream that he pulled from the back of his mind...
but, if you believe that all dreams have reasons, than I guess it could say that he's thinking about you.
and with the new girlfriend being identical to you, could say that, he possibly believes that you are the girl for him, that no matter who he dates now, they will not compare to you, and they will just be rebound girls, because he will always have you on his mind.
the part about your Dad, and grandfather could say that he desperately seeks to be approved by your family.
and with you sunbathing, could say that he is still physically attracted to you, that he wishes you could be together again sexually (I'm assuming you had sex, cuz you lived together)
OR... he could have made the whole thing up in a desperate attempt to talk to you, and let you know that he still has feeling for you, without letting you know that he still has feelings for you... of course the chances of that are slim, I don't know him, you, or your situation.. but, it is a chance...

As of yet, you are the love is his life. So he possibly will be looking for characteristics in his next girls that remind him of you. (You will be the model for his next girlfriend) Even though you are broken up, he wants things to be good between you two.... like you guys will be okay to hang out and be friends and not be all weird about it. Your grandad splashing him with water I don't know for sure.... maybe trying to wake him up? to the reality or what he really wants? not too sure.
That's my interpretation without looking at a dictionary.... So maybe you should consult one.

I think it means that you recently split up with your long term boyfriend and that part of the way you deal with it is through dreaming about him.
I had lots of dreams about my ex shortly after we broke up. None of them made sense and none seemed to have any real meaning (thank goodness, they were weird!)
Hope you are over him soon.

You unconsciusly still want to be with your boyfriend, but it seems a power issue here.You want to be different, maybe you are missing the fun/good times aspects of the relationship.

its only normal to dream about ur ex boyfriend as u are in the process of separation ! i think that for him its the same and even thou he wants to go on with his life ur presence is very strong inside him .
the sunglasses could be the protection of ur soul ! like u dont want anyone to see how it looks inside u !
but as i said , dont worry ... its only normal to dream things like this !

Your boyfriend will find someone who is just like you, or so he thinks, but in the long run, she will makes a mistake that will leave you laughing and will make you feel that you are better then her.
