i had my baby 3 weeks ago and ever since we came home from the hospital i have been sick, i noticed that she was conjested so on her 1 weeks appointment i told her doctor about it and the stupid doctor didnt even do anything about it.. about a week later she stoped breathing while i was holding her so my husband and i took her to the ER. she was admitted to the hospital on the 19th... she had broncities and was tested for RSV and it came back positive... we just barley got home yesterday, well my question really was if i was feeding her to much because she was throwing up alot before she went into the hospital and then during her stay it slowed down, by the end of the time there she wasnt throwing up hardly at all, but tonight she threw up again, its not spit up its accual barf you can smell it.. i just wasnt sure if it was because she is still partly sick and congested (they said that she will prolly be sick for a couple more weeks, but the broncities is almost gone)

sorry to split it up i ran out of text.... anyways, she eats about 2 oz every 2 hours, but she still acts hungry.... she has had a huge appitite since she has been better, but i thought that maybe the mucus and all the congestion is playing a role in her spitting up now... i know it does for me... i know all babys are different but approx how much should she be eating? thanks in adavance for the answers

ya i am a first time mom hehe, thanks for all the great help... i dont think its the formula because for a while i would pump and feed her that way, i just recently switched to formula when she went in the hospital because my milk production was slowing way down and i was having a hard time keeping up with her feedings. now my milk is almost completely gone. i am switching doctors and we do plan on saying something to that doctor, i have to make a doctors appointment for her tomorrow so i will ask her new doctor about it... she is suppost to go back for a check up to make sure she is still getting better... she is on an inhaler (sorry bout the spelling) but she just started that yesterday, and had been throwing up really bad since about the time she got sick, which is why i thought that her being congested was the reason she was barfing, but thank you guys i will talk to her new doctor about that for sure!! :)

Phew................ take time out to take a breath!
You said you were sick when you came out of hospital so she probably had the same thing as you. By 'sick' what do you mean?
A mucousy baby will throw up as the mucous will go into its tummy. Is your baby on antibiotics? You dont say but this could be making her sick also.
After the apnoea attack, did the hospital show you how to do CPR on babies?
A three week old baby should probably drink about 140mls/kg of body weight every 24 hours.
Im assuming you are not breast feeding this child.
If you are still worried, take her back to the hospital and ask them all the relevant questions there.
She might also just have reflux which is a pain but can be treated by various methods.
She might also have an allergy to the formula you are using...?need for soy or goats milk based formula.
You sound like a first time Mum..... good luck and big hugs.

Well i have not had a doctor ever tell me how much my childern could eat when they were small, just do not let her stomache get to hard, then she might get sick, and have a stomache ache. If she is still throwing up,,you should let the doctor know, maybe the mail she is drinking does not agree with her, or even since she had a hard time breathing well milk will add to that some what, like it does to an adlut that has those throwing up spells. I really will be praying for your little one to get well soon. By the way it sounds like the doctor you took her too in the first place needs to be replaced with one that will do all he or she can to keep your child health, lucky you got her to the er in time, i would have your husband chew out the doctor that did not treat her, that is melpratice. you should chew him out too, just not infront of the child.

After 3 or so weeks have handed, it extremely is seen widely used for a toddler to in basic terms have one bowel pass each and every week. it would additionally be a demonstration that he isn't any longer getting adequate to consume or that the formulation is horrifying his digestion. proceed breastfeeding on a popular time table, swap to a soy based formulation in case you haven't any longer already, and shop a watch on him. Constipation is characterised by straining, no longer by the absence of a bowel pass. be particular to be certain a physician if no substitute in approximately 3-4 days, and if each and every thing is okay by then, nevertheless attempt to you may carry it up and the subsequent Dr. Appt.

Try changing her milk to another kind. She might have to be on a breathing machine to help her conjunction. My son had RSV too. He had to get a shot from September-April. He only got one per month.

2oz every 2 hours sounds about right. Assuming that's around the clock ;-( ;-), that's 24oz per day. That sounds like plenty to me.

Congrats and good luck.
