All of my USB ports are already occupied (10 of them), and so are all PCI slots (2) on the motherboard. What do you recommend I do to my current computer, and is it possible to get a computer with like 5 PCI slots?

I know there's nothing I can do to increase the number of PCI slots on the current motherboard. But is a motherboard with 2 or 3 PIC slots normal? I have a TV tuner, fax modem, and sound card to put in the PIC slots. The current 2 are not enough to accomodate them. And in the future, I may need more than 3.

Thank you in advance for your comments and suggestions.

Thank you everybody for your comments and suggestions!

Snil - The devices in the USB ports include:

An all in one printer (inkjet printer/scanner/fax, I think)
A laser jet printer
A video capture device
A receiver for a wireles keyboard and mouse
A receiver for a TV remote (caz I have a tv tuner)
3 external USB HDs (and I soon need another one. ;p)
A transfer cable for my digital cam (which I could remove but I'm too lazy to plug and unplug caz I use it every other day!)

I can't remember what's taking up the 10th one. ; (

yep, - I have 3 PCIs also.

Motherboard manufacturer's save a few bucks shaving off the PCI slots. Most people don't use them, or need them. But if you're like me, - I dip into the PCI slots as well.

My Win 2K server is a P3 / 750 with 3 PCI slots. I have to work with what I got. My Win XP box has like 5 PCI slots.

Go get a USB external hub.

One thing you are doubling up on. You have a TV tuner card in your PCI slot and a video capture USB device. The TV tuner IS a video capture device. That would free up one of your USB's or, the other way around, one of your PCI slots if your video capture device will handle TV.

It's hard to find a motherboard with more than 4 PCI slots. Most new ones come with 2 or 3 PCI and 1 or 2 PCI express slots.

Good luck.

get a 7 port USB hub for most of the stuff on your list, If you use EVERYTHING EVERY day then you got way to much freetime, dude......I only have a wireless mouse/keyboard, my USB hub, and two External hard drives......why in the hell do you need all that stuff anyway???
Of course you could alwasy find a USB to PS2 adapter so you use the availiable PS2 port for your keyboard and have one more USB port availiable.
And then again you could also find a serial or parallel cord for your laserjet printer, yet again freeing up another USB port.

No need to Change Your Mother Board or Change your System.

There are USB Hubs available which would convert one of your USB Ports into 4 Ports.

You can walk into any Computer Store and ask for 4 Port USB HUB.

One Question what are the 10 USB Devices that you have connected to the PC ? If you dont mind to answer.

If you still need help you can get back to me. :)
