Any state court house has a public records division with a computer in it that you can look up anyone's name and find out anything court related that they have ever filed for or done such as marriage, divorce, tickets, custody, complaintents etc. You cant print the records or take them home with you but you can look them up. Go there if there is a marriage certificate filed and not a divorce certificate that person is married.

If you cannot ask the person himself, try to find the real name of the person and area/state where he lives/ and where he lived in the past.
then try asking his friends/relatives there. check the local churches & City hall for records. I think an investigation agency can do this work for you.
If you know a lawyer, try getting advice from him too.

if the person doesn't want you to meet his parent, or he will say they are from out of town, look for identification? status? never let you hold his cell phone, always have an alibi that he is going out with friends that you never met, or even you met them, friends is always excuse for alibi, he will tell the wife as sister/relatives who is sick or something an excuse, a lot of different ways to figure it out. especially at work, work late. goodluck!
