okay i just got him a few days ago so i know he probably isn't eating that much except 2 pellets cuz he is stressed but is he supposed to be so skiddish? Also he looks like he is sneezing, what happens is he goes into his shell (arms,head, feet, tail) really fast and comes out really fast and he makes a funny noise and he does this under water. What is he doing? also i heard that they are mainly meat eater and i heard they are strictly vegitarians so which is it? and PLEASE give a website so i can make sure its the right answer. Thanks!

Red-ears are mostly carnivorous when young and shift to more plants as they get older. Tortoises, however, eat mostly veggies.
Sneezing can be a sign of a developing respiratory illness. Boost the water temps a little (instead of the usual 75-80F, try 80-85F) and see if you can get some good UVB lighting going. A big tank with very clean water will help as well.

OK. How old is the slider, whats its size. When it is young it requires some meat. Insects worms and fish. WHen it is an adult which I doubt it would switch into an all vegetarian diet. I would get it some fresh vegetable, especially ANarchis or Elodea. THey are about a dollar abunch in the pet store. I don't know about his sneezing.

He will calm down, and they are amnivors, they eat both plants and animals, so give him some plants and pellets and some live fish and crayfish (de-clawed), the "sneezing" is normal, he is just clearing his nose of water, sorry I don't know ant good web sites, but I have had red eard sliders for 10 years, and box turtles, painted turtles, mud turtles, and snapping turtles so I know what I am talking about..
