Do I need a special Type of teflon?? or is it a thickness thing?

In the official meaning of dissolve, no. Teflon is polymer and few polymers are really soluble in anything.

On the other hand, gasoline will probably solvate the teflon to a fairly high degree and mess up the tape, probably irreversibly, if it is actually submerged in it. The tape will be able to handle fumes pretty well though. What are you planning on using it for?
