I've this cousin who has been through a lot in her life & mostly emotional pain and abuse. She has been through some painful relationships as well. She is good looking, kind, intelligent and a very caring person. She is self reliant and has always thought herself to be a very self confident woman but now somebody told her she might have some real self confidence problem. And when she looks back at her life she sincerely feels she definitely might've some major self confidence issue and probably it's just that she has never been aware of this until now & therefore she never acknowledge it either. now since I know everything about her & what she been through in life I feel it might be true. Now what should she do to restore her self confidence back??how should she pull the pieces of her life together?? I know she really needs help and some emotional boost which is crucial for all of us at som point in life and especially for her now as a woman.

I sincerely value your suggestions.Thanks

Ask her to do meditation. Atleast now ask her not to go with any relation easily as she had already faced many painful relations. Make her realize that whatever had happened, it was not because of self confidence but because she might had believed the persons easily. When she starts thinking that she will not believe anyone easily, think thrice before doing anything, she may get her self confidence back.
All the best.

What had happened to her before was the cause that affect her self confidence. she should actually transform all the hardships she has been through into a strength. Self confidence can only be moulded by the person herself. I am going to give suggestion on what usually a lack-of-confident people need to do...
First, she has to be grateful with what she has; her life right now, the past of her life, how she looks and the people around her. As you mentioned that she is good looking and intelligent, then she should learn to see that she is beautiful and clever. This is where the problem occurs. She cannot see what God has blessed her with, which is the beauty and the brain...when she is not grateful enough, she doesn't know what is so special about her and she thinks that other people may not see the positive sides in her, and at last, leads to the lacking of self confidence...
Secondly, you have to know whether she is overshadowed by someone else. In this case, i am meaning that, maybe at work, someone she is closed to is more outstanding in the job compared to her, so it makes she feel so down, so nothing, and that creates the problem in self confidence.

Well, most cases where people do not have self confidence is just because they are not comfortable with who they are. Maybe they need a minor change, like their lifestyle, eating habit, or the way they dress...mostly, a minor change can change people's view on life and instill confidence in themselves.

This is all that i can share....i hope you can help your cousin and let her see how PRECIOUS she really is....the most important thing is to let her feel GRATEFUL, THANKFUL and FAITHFUL to God, then everything will flow to her.....GOOD LUCK, my friend!

for me...it was to keep busy. I got a new job, pick up a old hobby, and started redoing my front yard and the inside of my house. What she can do is make a list of things she would like to do in her life...goals and projects. Then tape the list up somewhere she can see it everyday. The goals should be short range as well as long range. It will give her something to work towards as well a feeling of self worth when she accomplishes something. Blessings!
