check out www.cheapovegas.com I doubt you really need the absolute CHEAPEST hotel..even as a college student..cus you'll still want to be on the strip..so in that case..you might want to try stratosphere or circus circus..they are far on the strip, but at least still on it and relatively close to the monorail. but definitely check cheapovegas.com to see the best value for your buck where to stay, eat, party, etc.

Believe it or not, Circus Circus. If you don't mind sleeping with a giant clown above your head it is very inexpensive. They have lots of cheap slots where you can have fun and not spend alot. It does not matter where you stay as long as it is safe and clean since you will hit the strip anyway to check out the other casinos.
Have fun, be safe!

Oh yeah, go to a bookstore and pick up a 2007 edition of Frommer's Guide for Las Vegas. Study it before you go and you will know all the secrets of Vegas. Where to eat cheap, where the trams and moving sidewalks are, best shows. Excellent book!

Dont go for the circus circus, its a dump!

I wouldnt go for one of the cheapest, even tho its vegas theres still very poor hotels.

You can get some good rates for some nice hotels, like the stratosphere, or even the flamingo, which is on the center of the strip, and is a 3 star. Its nice!

try expedia, there are usually good rates given on there.

stratosphere is surprisingly cheap.

I wouldnt worry about the price of your room, its the flight that will cost you.
(im presuming your going from the UK) Your flight will cost you anything from £350 (you'l be lucky to get one that cheap tho) to £550)

best thing to do is go on expedia, it will give you a good idea there of what your gonna pay

If you're gonna booze hard, you probably don't want to stay in the cheapest hotel, which will likely be some off-the-Strip (or, worse, off-Fremont Street) rat-infested drug trap in which you will be jacked and killed. You want to stay on the Strip (or, at a minimum, in one of the "better" hotels downtown, such as the Golden Nugget, Fitzgerald's, or the 4 Queens), in a decent hotel with decent security. Check out www.vegas.com for current deals.

Try the Tropicana on the strip. It is dated but clean....Because of its age, it usually has some good rates.....Circus Circus and The Strat are way to far north on the strip to be part of the action.

"The cheapest hotel" > The Gold Spike or Western>both are disgusting pits>puke on the floor and they will just think you're a regular...>I do not recommend either<

Gold Coast>free shuttle to strip
El Cortez
Palace Station>free shuttle to fashion show mall(strip)
Boulder Station
Sam's Town>free shuttle to strip & downtown

Motel 6 starts out at $46. Plaza downtown is $35 a night.

But if you want to join the hookers and use the western or Elcortez
