I have to agree with what everyone else is saying, it is not wrong to ask for help once in a while, as long as the question is something you are really stuck on, is something that makes sense, and is not something that can be found elsewhere. The following is an example of a question that makes people tell you to do your own homework:
"what does an adjective mean"? I would tell the person that is asking this question, "get a dictionary and look it up"
We have become so dependent on having other people do our work for us and wanting instant gratification that we're all forgetting the basics of doing things for ourselves.

I reckon it's ok to ask help online. But instead of asking it on Yahoo Answers or 360, just type it into a search engine (yahoo or google) and you'll get a REAL answer and you'll get it a LOT faster, hunny.
I doubt anyone on Yahoo Answers or 360 would really be smart enough to help you with your homework. They tell you to "do your own homework" becuase they do not know how to help you.
Cheers and *hugs*

Oh, I see that all the time. If it's just something that requires looking stuff up, I don't help as much as if it's something from say a century ago with stiff, formal language, that mystifies someone. I haven't told anyone "do your own homework" but if they have another resource to use I might tell them to go a different direction.

some people are really mean and sarcastic
i think its okay to post a homework question
you are just asking for help and isnt this what yahoo answers is about? as long as you are asking the question so you can understand.
however there are some people who post homework questions over and over and expect other people to do it and just look for the answer.

It's not wrong to ask for homework help, as long as you are learning something from it, and no one else is actually doing the work for you.
Also, it's really
really
really
really
Not wrilly. People see things like that and think to themselves "Maybe this kid should do more of his/her own homeork," and then they get snippy with you.

some things i can understand asking for help for. i recently posted a question asking to do an interview with a spanish immigrant for my spanish essay because i didn't know any. its the people who ask for help with the easiest things like to define a word for them. they couldn't go to dictionary.com and do it themselves? i have no problem helping people with a genuine question, its when they're just too lazy to look it up themself is when it bothers me.
and the guy before me had a great point about your spelling and why you probably get the reactions you do.

There is homework section here at Yahoo Answer you know. But for economics? What you can't just read and punch few numbers on your calculator?

of course NOT! everyone needs help and if we get a source for such help, there's nothing wrong of making use of it. It's just like asking someone for help..like a tutor..but much easier :)
