One of my argyle socks informed me of an attemped breakout for tomorrow night. They are going to tie themselves together and drop out of the upstairs window to freedom. What are their chances? Will they just wind up lying next to a curb, dirty and worn?

Oh, but those socks are really very sneaky and tricky, and will try and succeed no matter what you choose to do to contain them. However, at home, I try to keep the socks near to the washing machine, don't throw them in the hamper, they just get lost, and then there's the transfer to worry about. It's easiest if they go from your feet to the washing machine (or a nice little mesh bag hanging right next to the washer), then to the dryer, then to your bureau drawers. If they get lost that way, then they aren't running away, your washing machine or dryer is eating them...that's a bigger problem to solve.

You know..I had to do this myself....mine were planning a night of dancing & partying when I left for work....I put them all together & locked them in the dresser drawer....the got out of the hamper...it was wicker & they drilled a hole in the side....don't ask me how they got the fork...I am still wondering that one....you might try reasoning with them...ask them what their demands are..see if you can meet any of them...might keep them from escaping.....

Hm...I know I put all the socks in the drawer earlier....hmmmm....where did they ALL go?...............

If they aren't happy with you, let them go. The garden gnomes are waiting outside to unravel them and add the yarn to their huge yarn ball. Serves them right!
