Buddhist or for that matter any philosophy would teach us the value systems and the way of living our life.

The unique thing about the Buddhist philosophy is that it handles , both Body and the Mind. Just because many ( particularly the Christians) give this a name , called buddhism, we tend to bracket buddhism with the other religions. Indeed it is not a religion . It is a way of life and there are many followers to this way of Life. But the moment they put the statue of Buddha on a pedestal , he had it! He is God.

The beauty of Buddhist thought is the irrefutable link between the mind and the body. By keeping the body well and keeping the mind calm we can be happy. The two are linked by "prana" the life giving breath. Handle it and you learn to handle yourself.

This is oversimplified. You can see the website "Vipasana" and you can read more. But, for heaven sake, do not start with the thinking that this is a yet another handout of "Do It Yourself Guru"

Buddhist Philosophy is good. if you research the theories you will discover that they can't be contradicted. besides they came well before Christianity and other religions were made up.

I would say it is a good thing to get into.

Of all types of philosophies mooted so far the Buddhist philosophy is one of the oldest based upon human virtues, patience & penance. The serenity found among Buddhist philosophers is incomparable.
