I have never taught to any student below 5th standard. Which standard is Hindi going to be introduced in? Assuming that students would be no lower than 2nd standard and no more than 5th, you could try to collect all the those names of foods or sweetmeats that they love and has almost all Hindi letters in them. Try collecting large pictures of such food items. Or try finding out if their names collectively taken have atleast each Hindi letter in it(Eg Diya- Da & Ya, Rakhi- Ra & Kha, etc) You may then write these names in large fonts on a chart paper and decorate it. You could stick their lovelist childhood photos along side and surprise them by doing that(Students love to tell how they enjoy their birthday parties every year so collect one such snap if parents don't have any objection)
That way you can attract them to letters and word formation. You may also try to bring Hindi comics with large print(Chacha Choudhari, Amar Chitra Katha) and pictures and discuss some sentences from them, etc. You could also like to play some hit Hindi film songs appropriate for children(may be those songs which have almost all words from the textbook prescribed for that year etc) Then depending upon how they progress you can plan your first lesson.

Teacher should first give her introduction .She should know which chapter she is going to teach. Then she should talk In general which sholud be directly or indirectly related to that lesson, for example if you are teaching about punctuality first tell them about it in general then start your lesson.
