The Detroit Lions:
-Joey Harrington over Roy Williams (the Oklahoma safety)
-Kalimba Edwards over Clinton Portis
-Terry Fair over Randy Moss
-Charles Rogers over Andre Johnson
-Chris Claiborne over Daunte Culpepper
Those are just a few of the many terrible decisions they've made on draft day!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Washington Redskins. But I guess I can't argue with the Lions. If this were 5 years ago the Cardinals would top the list, but their past few drafts have been very nice. The Redskins problem is that they like to trade their draft picks and would rather sign free agents (to some inexplicably large contracts, I might add) to build their roster. They dont have a true GM, as Dan Snyder hired his "life long friend" Vinny Cerrato to make personnel decisions. This guy wouldnt be able to win a fantasy league against 11 second graders.
This is a story from the Washington Post a few years back that discusses some of the Redskins lack of drafting prowess. I'm sure some of the numbers have changed regarding their roster, but this should give an idea of their "talent evaluation".
"In 2000, the Redskins drafted LaVar Arrington and Chris Samuels in the first round. Wonderful first-round picks -- who haven't made the slightest difference to their won-loss record. They also drafted six other guys -- not one of whom is still with the team.
In 2001, they drafted five players, including Rod Gardner in the first round, Fred Smoot in the second and Darnerien McCants in the fifth. Fine. They also took Sage Rosenfels and Mario Monds. In 2002, they took quarterback Patrick Ramsey in the first and Ladell Betts in the second. They drafted eight other players too. Guess how many are still with the team? Three.
In 2003, they gave away most of their picks in order to sign restricted free agents. Last year, they drafted Sean Taylor with the fifth overall pick, gave up a second-round pick for Clinton Portis and traded a third-rounder for benched quarterback Mark Brunell.
The sum of all this: Prior to last weekend's draft, the Redskins had 75 players on the roster, but only 16 of them were their own draft choices."
Two years ago they drafted Carlos Rogers and Jason Campbell in the first round. The jury is still out on both, but I'm sure most Skins fans would have rather had local Maryland Terrapin Shawn Merriman than Rogers, who has been beaten quite a few times early in his career. However, looking back theres always cases where guys picked lower in the draft far exceed their predecessors. As for Campbell, I guess we'll see this year.
Last year the Skins didnt have a 1st round pick (it was traded away, I believe as part of the Champ Bailey-Clinton Portis deal) Their top pick, 2nd rounder Rocky McIntosh barely played, and they traded a 3rd rounder as part of the 3 way trade that brought TJ Duckett to Washington. Duckett rarely played as well.
We'll see what happens this year with the #5 overall...Provided no one makes them an offer they cant refuse, which shouldnt be hard.

You can't argue with the Lions. They've drafted Joey Harrington and a bunch of receivers in the first round for like the past five years, and where has that gotten them? Then it probably is the Browns, and I'm almost convinced that their Center position is jinxed. Oh, and the Redskins have the 6th overall pick in the first round, not the 5th.
Cheers!

I cant argue with the Lions but the Browns are up there to. Tim Couch and then the recent bad attitudes they have picked up in Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslon JR.

guh... the cards... it's been pretty ugly for a long time with a lot of high picks...
I can't think of another team with that many picks that high over that amount of time... with less tallent to show for it...
boldin, fitzgerald... jury is still out on leinard... but beyond those recent successes... a lot of andre wadworths and j.j. arrigntons.. and this has pretty much been the case my entire life...
browns have also been pretty bad since they've come back... couch, courtney brown, gerald warren, kellen windslow... and on and on...

Texans- Passed on Bush, making them the dumbiest team of the Decade. Before that they Took Carr, with the #1 Pick, also dumb, also Johnson hasnt lived up to his college hype, with the top 5 pick. then..........I dont know wat else to say but they've been alfull in the draft picks they have made.
