Do you mean the rich Al Gore who has a light bill of 1,200,00 + a month.
He is part of the Hollywood set and won an Oscar. He is now called the hypocritical entertainer.
They think we the people who make them rich should be the ONLY ones to go with out.
Too bad we aren't so hungry for entertainment.
If we had the guts to boycott them, they would sure change their tune and stick to acting instead of pretending to be politicians and living in mansions all over the world.
They are a JOKE!!!

I'm concerned about the environment, I'm just not sold on this whole global warming issue, it just happens to be the popular bandwaagon to be on right now. I think we all need to do our part to conserve energy. My problem is with all the hypocrisy, just as you said. It's pretty funny when Barbara Streisand can tell us with a straight face that we should all hang our clothes outside to dry, open our window and turn off the air conditioning...so hypocritical. She lives in an enormous compound where even her barn is air conditioned. Nancy Pelosi wants a bigger jet. Kennedy did not want energy efficient windmills near HIS home. How many jets does John Travolta own?
The average household uses 10,656 kilowatt hours a year, and yet Al Gore's used 221,000. Yes, do as I say, not as I do.
I guess the celebrity types do not want to make the same sacrifices that they are asking us to make.

Well, you must understand; this is a global phenomena ( not the warming part, but the belief in the warming). Scientists the world over have announced that they believe it is due to man's influence, ignoring scientists the world over who say that it is not. The media is really the ones who are picking up this baton and running with it, for it really matches the belief structure of most of those who are in the business. In truth, it does not matter whether or not there is global warming and if there is, whether or not we are to blame. In the end, we just need to take better care of the planet just to be responsible stewards of this wonderful gift that has been given to us.

While it is true that some people are hypocrites they can still speak the truth. I am not saying someone like Al Gore is necessarily right about global warming. But just because you are a hypocrite does not mean you can't be right. For example. If an arsonist burns down a building and then he tells you: "Arson is wrong"; he's a hypocrite but he speaks the truth.

Say what? What rock have you been hiding under? Did you not just read/hear about all the new species of underwater life found in Antarctica, due to thousands of square miles of ice cap melting, allowing scientists to discover them? I hope you don't live near the beach, so your house doesn't become submerged!
If you live inland, I hope your house doesn't collapse from all the extra snow created by more moisture (due to evaporation) from both Polar caps melting. THINK, THINK, THINK. No more dumb questions, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not believe in this crap. The so called global warming has raised temperatures not even 2 degrees F. globally over the past 100 years. How stupid. I am looking out my window at 3 feet of snow. D@MN THIS GLOBAL WARMING!!!
Thank god for my 4x4 SUV!

"Every time you breathe, you emit CO2, stop breathing!"

People listen and "believe" because its politically expedient to, and for now, it's a huge fad. That is, it's fashionable to be "for" global warming. The fact is, we've been in cycles of warming/cooling that each have caused their own hysterias.

(From the townhall.com blog in sources)
src2580, you claim Electric cars would solve everything, where would you get the power to charge up your electric car? Alternative methods, yes, but I propose Nuclear Energy.
Is the earth warming right now? Possibly. Does man have anything to do with it? Debatable, but possible. Will this warming destroy us? Debatable, but I doubt it.
-High CO2 levels coupled with "extra sun" will improve plant life globally (has anyone noticed an increase in yields in farms at all?)
-Some people may die from a little extra heat, but less people will die from extra cold
-Should we adhere to costly measures like the Kyoto Protocol? No, such measures would only affect 1st-world nations and developing nations would be given a pass, not to mention putting a huge damper on economies worldwide.
-We all know how much "teeth" the UN has (how long did Saddam go thumbing his nose?)
That said, I think we should still work to clean up after ourselves. Do your own part, use less energy, use renewable energy, waste less, want less (walk the walk Al Gore, celebrities), heck it will even make you have to pay less to energy companies, and on buying wasteful stuff!
Hope this helps
-Henry

nice to be living in America far away from all the disaster areas
how i envey the bliss of ignorence enjoyed by so many ,
but for how long can one have his head in the sand ,before noticing that your a**s is on fire
Is global warming a man-made menace?
not all there are natural cycles in the planets life
but a lot is influenced by mans existance ,and this is increasing with overpopulation, putting strains on Natural resources and increasing contaminations as well as destructions of essential componants the ensure living conditions for all life forms
some home truths
politicians and scientists who work for politicians have downplayed the facts because solutions are expensive and means change and change effects many people income, and most of the world is kept in the dark of the real things that are going on.
in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification
we have rthousands of people right now who are battling for their lives and have lost everything because of floods caused by Global warming ,here in mexico
in recent times thousands of people have died because of exessive heat, usually old people.in India ,Mexico and France,
deforestation causing desertification, the desert conditions causing very cold nights and scorching hot days
in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert, the globe where they were got to hot for them .
and instead of producing food they are now needing it from some where else, and they will drastically effect the world food prices when they start buying water in the form of grains ,at any cost destabalising governments, in some countries ,could be the result
(are you seeing more Chinese around interested in agricultural lands ,we do here in Mexico)
,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.
collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like, over grazing and fertilizers,
as far as the food production is concerned, Global warming or some of its effects are serious, rising seas result in landloss
each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss
more landloss because of desertification every year,we have less areble land to produce food ,for an extra 70 million people ,
and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
who are overpumping deep carbon aquifiers
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing
RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
this does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.
Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,
At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.
SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes
reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.
the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.
the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia
Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.
the protection of existing forrests.
stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.
education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.
education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion
Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.
more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks
,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour
alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine
recicling wastes,limit water use
