You poke then in the stomach, or some other plump area, and say you too and laugh. Was your friend trying to be mean? This sounds like a question I just answered and I will say the same thing hear... many people get offended when someone they know states the obvious, and you need to assess your own feelings of insecurity with that issue. If there is no insecurity, and you think that person is just mean, you need to have that conversation with them and let them know that it's not cool. If they can't accept that, then drop that friend like a bad habit.
If you prefer a less confrontational approach, You could also say something like, I like my body, including the plump areas, so I'm okay with being "fat".

anything critical people tell me, I try to take it as advise. You have the right to be angry if they were just trying to piss you off, however then you are just giving them that power over you. ..The most important thing when it comes to your body is that you're happy with it. If you consider yourself slightly plump in a way that you don't enjoy, then you have the power to fix it. If you sincerely like your body the way it is, then tell you're friend to shut the hell up and make you a sandwich! lol
Do whatever makes you feel better about yourself.

I would not let it bother me, I've got a great self esteem.
Your friend probably spends too much time looking at magazines or watching tv and she thinks that women are supposed to look a certain way (skin and bones like a model). But what your friend does not know is that models are not like *real women*. Models and movie stars starve themselves, they have lots of money, they have personal trainers and they have personal chefs to make them be skinny!
Us real chicks don't have much money, we don't have personal chefs or tainers, and we like to eat! The average woman is a size 10 or more. It's no big deal.
Next time your so -called friend tells you that you are fat, tell her that you are Not a Model, you are a real woman and she needs to stop being so narrow minded.
Sounds like you need better friends, hunny.
Cheers

Hmm, I need a little more info. Did you ask her to honestly tell you if you were looking heavy? Or did she blurt it out for no reason? And most importantly, is she heavy herself?
I have one or two good friends who (when I ask) will tell be the honest truth about my appearance (if I ask them). They will also tell me when I'm looking good.
If this girl just blurted it out (for no reason, and in mixed company), she is rude and probably jealous of you in some way.
But if she's a good friend, and you asked her to give her honest opinion, you can't fault her for being honest.
Hope I could help.

1. Take a look for your self without any clothing in a full body height mirror
2. use a weight scale (undamage one) to scale your weight
3. try anything tight or shirt which the most close fitting to your body for a year
4. when you already have all your trustworthy data then you know what next you should do.

yeah it would be a little embarrassing but it shouldn't deter you from having friends. REAL FRIENDS don't put others down. However your friend needs to be gentle with you. You will only have every few "REAL FRIENDS in your entire lifetime. Ask your friend to stop talking to you about your weight. Good Luck

well first off i'd be really pissed...and besides that if your fat or plump you already know it right you don't need other people telling you...talk to your friend about it...let her know it upset you or hurt your feelings...maybe that will encourage your friend to not do stupid stuff like that again...

I would think about losing weight by eating right and working out. Only if I knew she/he was right.
And most importantly, if I knew I would be healthier and more comfortable by losing some weight. I would thank my friend for waking me up to the fact and then get working on it.
