My baby girl is 24 W 5days and she is usually pretty quiet. My placenta is on the anterior so I think it cushions lots of her movements. She is usually a mover in the morning after breakfast and around 11pm. Yesterday she was so quiet I was worried. But tonight she is moving like crazy. Her movements are far more frequent than usual. Should I be concerned at this sudden burst of energy? I didn't eat or drink anything particularly different today

CONGRATS ON YOUR BABY GIRL!!!! HERE IS SENDING YOU MANY POSITIVE STICKY PREGGY VIBES!!!

today i am 21 weeks 4 days with NUMBER 4!!! lol I am too going through the same thing. my dd has a mind of her own right now and she too is latched to the anterior so i know what you mean. only when you eat, or try to get down to sleep she becomes active right?

I know i was told to start to record my kicks/movements. after dealing with miscarriages and still births i learned not to play with me or my childs health. i found this on a site "Every day at the same time, preferably just after you've eaten, take time to be aware of your baby's movements. You needn't stop what you are doing, just be aware and count each movement as you de¬tect it. If you haven't felt at least 4 or 5 movements by the end of an hour, you should redo the count, this time lying down on your side and focusing on counting movements. We call them "kicks" but all movements— punches, rolls and swooshes—count too, if it's a definite movement. You may be told it's normal for fetal activity to slow approaching full term. While that may be true for some women, the change should never be sudden. Sudden changes can signify trouble, usually involving the cord. If, after redoing the kick count, you still don't detect 10 movements within 2 hours, call your doctor. From a practical standpoint it's always easier to have your baby checked during office hours, but don't let the time of day stop you. If you detect a change in your baby's activity, call, no matter what the time. We've all been taught to be considerate of others but this is a different situation. Doctors, like firemen, have chosen a 24-hour occupation. You've chosen to become a mother. As a mother your job is to protect your baby. Pick up the phone and call at once. Tomorrow morning could be too late!" http://www.stillnomore.org/main.htm

they even offer a chart you can use to chart your kick. i found it helps me some because i can get too busy and forget to even look to see "did she kick me yet?" and then i start to panic. but with the chart i can kind of be at ease.

My doctor also told me that if for any reason i feel something may be wrong... there is no problem with coming in so they can do a quick doppler to make sure she is not having a 'sleepy day'. MY DD has been moving a lot more lately too. my Dr said today it was from her trying to establish her own sleep pattern.. and kicking and moving about to make more room for her next little growth spurt. She also said movement was good. it is when i didnt feel movement i should be worried.

Just getting you prepared for the realization that you really don't have a lot of control over your child. She's making up for lost time yesterday. Don't you ever just have a down day?

I'm not a Dr. but why not go to a clinic or Emergency Room and ask, they may suggest a ultra scan for safety sake.
