lines are always of the formula y = mx + b, where m is the slope, and b is the y value when x = 0.

slope = ( 26 - 9 ) / ( 22 - 5 ) = 17/17 = 1, so m = 1
now we have y = x + b, so plug in one of our pairs
9 = 5 + b... so b = 4.

Check with the other pair:
26 = 22 + 4... why yes it does!

Our equation is y = x + 4

The equation of a line containng the points (s, t) & (p, q) is
y-q=[t-q]/[s-p](x-p)(order is important). so the answer is
y-9=17/17(x-5 ) or y=x+4

m = (26 - 9) / (22 - 5) = 17/ 17 = 1

y - 9 = 1.(x - 5)

y = x + 4

(y - 9)/(x - 5) = (26 - 9)/(22 - 5)
(y - 9)/(x - 5) = (17)/(17)
y = x + 4
