How do I connect a MySQL 5 database to the following?

Question

Visual Basic
Visual C++
MS Office Infopath / Word / Excel
Any other application that asks for a database connection.

Note: I have Apache Tomcat 4.


I'm a complete novice in these fields, so clear instructions please.
Also, is there any way I can import/export Oracle tables to/from MySQL?

if u know what is connection string and how to use it than...
use this string odbc:mysql://localhost:3306/

if u dont search in google how to use set connection string for MySQL.
