Mostly drivers are already preinstall on XP, but sometimes you still need to install the driver that comes with your hardware, try installing it see if it works.

Did it work properly before? Have you tried moving the receiver? Go to the mouse settings in the control panel, maybe the left button is set wrong. If you are using Microsoft settings, this isn't likely, but if you are usng Mouseware or Logitech software, there are all kinds of alternate settings. Hopefully it is either the setting or the position of the receiver. How old is it? Maybe it is worn out?

If your wireless mouse is brand new then maybe it is defected. That is what happened to me when I bought a new wireless card for my notebook.
