Well if you are really trying to forget your ex then the first thing you would do is get rid of everything that reminds you of him. Don't contact him, chat with him on any messngers and actually delet emails and screenames on chat. (If computer was a way of communication for yall) Delete his phone number from your cell and and try not to remember it. If the guys decides to call you block his number, if he tries to email you mark his email as bulk mail and always delete bulk mail without ever checking it. Trhow away everything he has ever gotten you or give it to a friend or donate it to charity or something.... But never... and i mean never get rid of the jewelry. You can make a quick buck on that if someone is interested. And... No don't give it back to him.... It will just be a reason to go see him and that would defeat the purpose of trying to forget him. Well this is all i can pretty much say.. Hopfully it helps. Peace.

Well my dear, you don't forget someone you truly loved, not ever. Know that and give yourself some time to get over the worst of the pain and loneliness. Then take your memories and put them away in a small portion of your heart. Soon they will just be a reminder occasionally of someone you once loved and shared a (I hope) wonderful part of your life. Trying to forget someone just takes up time and energy you could be using to GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE!!! I don't mean that in a mean way, I just want to stress - there are others out there, and one of them is just waiting for you. I hope God will bless your time of grief, make it short and walk with you through the coming years. I will say a prayer for you.

I am so sorry you are having to go through this. I should have said that first. Also, I don't mean to trivialize your question. I simply thought about my past loves and how nice it is just to remember some of the good times.

May God Bless You!

It is hard to forget, but time will heal your pain. You don't forget them but you don't miss them as much as you used to as time goes by.Try to give yourself the best look than before and find someone new and try not to compare the new one with your ex. Put all attention and effort into the new person. Who knows he might be the right one for you.

actually. it takes forever to forget someone. it takes time. its a process. to start with. erase/delete/throw away. things that remind you. or you could put it in a box. all the letters. gifts and stuff. then re unite with old friends. do things that make you feel better. pray. and dont communicate anymore. then find someone else. someone better.

Time.......Its painful but true.
Meeting new people helps to but I think you need to take some time to morn the last relationship. Moving on too soon can be just as bad as not moving on at all.

good luck!
