Go ahead and go to the doctor. He or she won't judge you. My best friend got pregnant when she was 16 (had the baby when she was 17) and she was in the same boat as you! She didn't know she was pregnant, and she kept drinking, smoking, and using drugs. You cannot get in trouble or get arrested if a doctor finds out you were using drugs. Most drugs would be out of your system in four months' time, but the best thing to do would be to go to a doctor right away. That way if there IS anything wrong with the baby, it will be taken care of as soon as possible. If it makes you feel any better, my friend's baby was healthy as could be and is now a very happy nine month old girl! For your sake and the baby's, swallow your pride about the doc knowing you did drugs because they can't legally tell anyone, and you'll feel so much worse if the baby is born with something wrong because you didn't go to the doctor! Good luck!

Okay, I worked in Criminal Drug and Alcohol Court in Indianapolis for 3 years and had to take training classes.
Marijuana - one marijuana cigaretter stays in system 4-6 days. Regular smoking takes an average of 30 days to exit system.
Cocaine - single use takes approximately 72 hours to exit system. Regular use can increase detox time by up to a week.
Vicodin - one pill has a half life of 10 hours. which means one full pill is flushed out of system in less than 24 hours. Most pills are similar as far as detox time goes.
Alcohol - takes an average of 18 hours to exit system. There are 5 day alcohol test that can detect alcohol. This is usually reserved for individuals on probation
Some detox times can vary. This is based on someone who is of average height and weight. Smaller people can detox quicker and heavier people may take longer.
If you do no more drugs they will not show when you deliver your child.
You need to get prenatal care asap. You will have a urine and blood test regardless. The drug test is not for drug usage. They will do a drug screen with the urine. But not solely as a drug screen. You do not have to fear them contacting the authorities. They will not. You should let them know your situation beforehand.
Hope this helps and I do not judge you for your actions. Just stop the risky behavior now and your baby has a good chance of being healthy. My mother did drugs for the first 3 months when she was pregnant with me and I suffer no ill effects from that usage.

It is possible. Do not be afraid of seeing a doctor. You have made mistakes in the past but now you need to look forward and do what is best for you and your baby. Prenatal care is especially important in your case. A doctor will be able to tell you the risks associated with drug taking and pregnancy and help you look after yourself and the baby, they will also be able to do tests, ultrasounds etc to get some idea of what problems, if any your baby may have during pregnancy, delivery and beyond. I know it is scary but you need to know now so that you can do the right thing by your child and give him/her the best possible start.

First of all who are all of us to judge! The most important is that you know that you are pregnant now and how you treat your unborn child . Go to a doctor and get prenatal care NOW! There are plenty of test that can be taken to ensure that you have not harmed your baby. When you get there they will ask you have you done any drugs just be honest so that they will know how to take care of you and your unborn child. Stop whatever it is that you are doing and concentrate on the life that is developing inside of you. Did you know that there is an actual baby in there. I mean with fingers and toes and everything.
Good Luck and GOD Bless.

whats sad is my taxes are going to be paying for all the extra treatment the baby deserves when it is born. When she says drugs that means more than alcohol and cigarettes. Cause if it was just that, then she wouldn't be asking a yahoo group.
So Im guessing maybe Oxycontin, or coke or maybe heroin. I hope not meth but seriously there is a good chance that your baby will have birth defects or other health problems later on in life. I pray that this child will have a healthy lifestyle which it so deserves.

Go to the doctor and tell him everything. Tell him what kind of drugs you were using and how much (don't worry, they've heard and seen it all). The important thing right now is to get some prenatal care.

Yes it will more than likely show up in the baby that the mother was using. Whether you're scared or not doesn't matter, you need to see a doctor. I pity that poor baby though.
