google desktop and instant messeges?

I have google desktop. I havae never been able to look at instant messeges with it. what am i missing?> everyone tells me i can do this but whenever i look at my index it never shows up. Whats up?

try to re-install it. or check your computer firewall.

it not at all worked on my computer from day a million, so i in simple terms unistalled it immediately. yet the different day I put in anti virus on my computer and now it really is slower than ever. i imagine it really is time to break down and purchase a clean computer.
