he's definatly underacheived but I didn't expect much from him to begin with

I think the biggest underachievment has come from Spencer Hawes on the UW Huskies

He's projected as a top 5 pick but has had little impact on that team and has pretty much ended the huskies NCAA tourney streak

he has not lived up to his hype or played like a big time center

He does not look like he belongs at all and is still high in the projections

Hes not underachieving, hes playing right where he is supposed to. Him and Tyler Hansborough are one of the most overrated players in NCAA. They will move on to the NBA as busts and won't have a very long NBA career, especially McRoberts. The only reason why he looked decent last year is because all the attention was on Redick and Shelden. Now they don't have to worry about them so they can man up equally to everyone. McRoberts is not a great ball player so that is why he doesn't do well against the defense. The most underachieving player is actually Justin Dentmon of Washington. He was supposed to be their PG and lead them to the top but his assists to turnover ratio is 1:1 while hes shooting from less than 30% from the three point line. His irratic play is the main reason why Washington hasn't done anything this year.

Hmm...underachieving...how so? I am a true Duke fan and someone who definitely likes to see my team do well. But, you have to understand, McRoberts is not a center, but is put into that role. Secondly, and most obvious he is a SOPHOMORE! He is by far the best 4 in the college game when it comes to passing and ball handling. What will be tough for McRoberts in the pro game is that nobody passes the ball in the NBA. I mean if people like Iverson could take the ball out of bounds, pass it to himself and dribble it down the court and shoot it...HE WOULD.

Albeit, I would definitely like to see McRoberts expand upon his game, but if you get him some people around him to allow him to be a passing, shooting, and point forward like he is designed to be...well then you will see him shine. If you really get beyond all the Duke bashing you will see how often he breaks the press of opposing teams. Nobody can match up with him. And lets not forget, his backup is either freshman Zoubek or junior Nelson. And if you want to talk about maybe underachiever, Nelson and some of the bone-head plays he makes at inopportune times is the real headache for me. I haven't missed a Duke game in years. We as Duke fans will be lucky if McRoberts stays 4 years. He may not be the superstar that everyone needs right now, but hey given he is a veteran as a sophomore....give him a little credit.
