Those are pretty much rip offs. They're free, after you have signed up for services like Netflix, joining a web service, and many other such provided luxuries. But after you have joined enough of them, you're paying more than what you would have for the Ipods, or other prizes, initially. So use your brain and don't comply with these pop ups.
Those prize services that claim to send you things and sign you up for services for taking surveys are just as bad. What you often get is a ticket to go to a store like Best Buy, spend 80 bucks on certain items there, the prize service will send you a rebates to reimburse you, but not always at once. Again, it would be cheaper to buy these things on your own.
These prizes can be won by anyone willing to fall for them, but most people dismiss them, which is smart.
