They are pretty amazing, we saw many on our Carribean cruise. Some would stay in the air for seconds and fly about a 100 yards. I guess they come out of the water to avoid predators.

yep. i used to fish the gulf a lot. they'd flee from the boat, being top feeders. once i took a date fishing. i forgot to bring any bait, but she still came back with a red snapper. lol

I took a cruise on my honeymoon years ago. It really is amazing to see them gliding over the water.

Yes. I also saw them on a cruise. I was also amazed at how long they were airborne. A memorable sight.
