Yes, it is very possible. Irregular periods can indicate health problems like thyroid issues, or polycystic ovarian syndrome, and can interfere with getting pregnant. They can also mean nothing is wrong, but it makes it hard to predict ovulation and therefore have sex at the right time in the cycle to get pregnant.

Birth control pills will prevent pregnancy, not help you get pregnant, though you may have regular cycles with them.

Have you ever charted your cycles to make sure you're ovulating? Using ovulation predictor kits, which are available in most drugstores with the pregnancy test can help you figure out when you ovulate, and that will tell you more about when to have sex to maximize your chance of concieving. Follow the directions that come with your particular test kit. You can also chart your fertility signs, basal body temperature, cervical position and texture, and cervical mucous, to see if you're ovulating. You can learn more about that at the website fertilityfriend.com or from the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

If you've been trying for seven years and aren't pregnant, you may want to speak to your doctor or health care provider about what's going on. Good luck.

yeah, they are probably irregular for some reason. You can have periods without releasing eggs too.your lining will still shed reguardless if there was an egg present or not. so,that may effect the regularity as well as the fertility. good luck!
