I got my belly button peirced about 6 months ago. About a month ago I noticed the skin on the top of the bar was thinning. What should I do? Do you think I should take it out, and re-peirce it? Is there anything I can put on it to thicken the skin?
Thank you!

Rejection
This phenomenon occurs more often in the eyebrow and navel areas where your body is literally pushing the jewelry out. The area of skin that is undergoing rejection will become red and sore. You will notice the skin appears to be thinning as the jewelry migrates closer to the skin’s surface. As time goes on, there will be a tiny amount of skin holding the jewelry and when the weight of the jewelry becomes too much, it will fall out. This will cause scar tissue as well as an indentation or cleft where the jewelry made its final exit. To avoid rejection and prevent scarring, it is best to remove the jewelry before it happens. just take it out let it heal and go get another thing pierced.
hope this helps.......good luck

take it out. if you were using hydrogen peroxide mild as an antiseptic stop now. just wait for it to heal and get a deeper re-piercing next time coz sometimes they hold too little skin

i might prob replace it in basic terms a million extra time to a miles less heavy one yet depart that one in and sparkling it lots. Idk if u have ever had ur ears pierced professionally yet they provide u ear care stuff...that certainly works at therapeutic different piercings too I used it on my abdomen button and nostril.
