I dont live in the United States. However, I caught like twenty seconds of Hannity & Colmes today. Hannity was criticizing Joy from The View from saying the President is a "liar" and a "murderer". Now, Hannity was very belligerent when it came to this subject, and he wondered why Joy had done this, and that it wasnt a good thing and all that.

Fine.

Last time I checked, I believe the First Amendment grants Americans the right of a free press, and the right to free speech. Why was Fox News criticizing her for voicing her opinion? It's not like Fox News says good things about more liberal politicians anyway.

CJ > Youre calling Clinton and Gore Communists? You're seriously not informed at all. Fox News is blatantly biased and youre wrong. Dont answer questions, if you have no idea of what the answer is.

I seriously do not see how you people, instead of just giving an answer to a question, stick to insulting whoever asked the question in the first place.

First of all, free speech does apply to Fox news as well as anyone else. So you repugs claiming foul play can shut up. But Fox news presents itself as news...and that is a lie. It is a mouthpiece network for conservatives. That is all it is. So say what you will. Criticize and condemn everyone who disagrees with your dogma. But do not claim to be "fair and balanced" and then protest when someone calls you on your lie. Plus one can disagree with fox news and it's views and still be a great American....

The concept of Hannity and Colmes is that a liberal and a conservative are both on the show, each getting time to express their opinion, and the viewer can hear the opinions and decide for themselves. It is interesting to watch Hannity voice is conservative opinion and then hear Alan Colmes counter all of his points from a liberal perspective.

As to the second part of your question, yes, the First Amendment does give the freedom of speech. Hannity was not criticizing for voicing her opinion, but he was disagreeing with her viewpoint. Yes, Hannity can be a jerk and likes to rant about people a lot, but the freedom of speech also gives people the freedom to voice their disapproval of others' opinions.

Does that sound fair?

Nobody's saying that Joy from the view can't speak her mind. But the ladies from The View have an annoying habit of saying provocative things and then acting shocked and amazed when some people disagree with them.....especially Rosie.

Go ahead. Speak you mind...but free speech is a double-edged sword and when you say something that insults other people they have as much right to speak as you do.

By the way...as far as I can see, FoxNews brings a little balance to the news scene. ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN all have a bias that is slightly left of center. So FoxNews' right of center approach levels the playing field. I watch Fox and CNN and I get a much more balanced view of the world because of it.

Fox is the only right wing bias news in America. All the others; CNN ABC CBS etc. Are so far left. Hell, CBS and Dan Rather even forged documents to make the President look bad. Does that fall under freedom of speech?

Edit: BTW--You're question sounds silly because you basically say someone only has the right to free speech if they agree with you. Not very free, huh?

Fox News is only the most biased of the New World Order media propaganda outlets. None of them, not even the ones in the UK, tell the whole story or anything like the truth. Anything that even vaguely looks like independent thought or free speech is attacked from all sides as "unpatriotic" or just plain insane.

Welcome to the United States of Nazi Germany.

Fight the New World Order.

Everyone has free speech and free press.

3 of 4 major American news stations are heavily liberal, at least one can go the other way right?

I listen (not watch) Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Rush Limbaugh. They are very biased, which I don't really like, but they highlight facts that get left out of the mainstream media, which I do like.

Bang Marie, you kinda answered your own question. Free speech and the right of the commentators to voice theirs was no more biased than what those women stated. Their opinion can be observed as biased as well. Kyle said it right in his statement

It started as such...one's history depicts one's future being....

"Last time I checked, I believe the First Amendment grants Americans the right of a free press, and the right to free speech."

What you saw is their opinion... buy a news organization, you can do the same....

Don't fret. The mature adult citizens of this country, the ones with a brain and an ability to read and write, have reason and logic as part of their intelligence, don't watch Faux News

It is 24-hour comedy....and that Hannity bunch, they are entertainers who laugh all the way to the bank. The suckers keep him and others like him on the air.

Yes they certainly have an agenda. But it caters for a certain group of people that agree with there opinions. I think there is nothing wrong that. If you don't like the channel than just change the station.
