Is there are difference between emo and goth?

Well emos are more depressed and cut their wrists and want to die (pathetic!) but goths are more into demonic practice and death and hard core black/heavy clothing. (geezz)

In my opinion, if you are talking about people, they are the same but Goths are probably older cause Goths were in the '80s and '90s. If you are talking about the music it is TOTALLY different. I think Goth music is way darker. Emo music is still kinda Pop-like.

Why do people think emo's and goth's are the same thing? They are not the same at all! For the record, I am neither, but I am around emo's alot.

emo is more Emotional kinda music and its less hard core as oppose to goth. Goth is more dark.

Emo and Goths are not the same in my opinion....I'm a Cancer, so naturally, I'm emotional, but do not wear the black clothes, fingernail polish, my hair isn't black...or anything like that. Emotional ppl are so stereotyped....all of them don't cut. I never have, so everyone of them doesn't.

Well uhh, not to be stereotypical or anything but...both want to kill themselves and are depressed. But the differences are emos hide behind their long, shaggy hair, get septum piercings and lip piercings, wear tight clothes, wear eyeliner, and like to get ****** in the *** hole. Whereas goths where baggy clothes, eyebrow piercings, white makeup, black lipstick, fishnets, and will **** anything that walks. Or anything that they cross paths with i should say, my bad.

in emo its all about dark hair, dark clothes, and the leave-me-alone's. but with goth they at least talk and are not shy.
