Suppose you could get the second (inferior) one for cheap, would you do it and why?

The only reason I can see to have two is if you are running different OS on each. Say Windows/MacOS or Linux. In my job I sometimes will have as many as 3 or 4 running and I switch back and forth between them. But I am in IT and that's pretty much what I have to do to keep up with my workload.

I have four laptops and three Desktops and one "Mockup" for testing.
My reason is Customer Support. I have Windows 3.11, 98, 2000, XP, Suse Linux, Ubuntu Linux and SAM Linux and many Windows Programs that my Customers use so I can walk them through a problem over the phone. I not real good with Linux, but, learning as it becoming more popular now.

It depends how cheap, otherwise I don't see much of a point. I would rather have a laptop and a more powerful desktop.
