i guess its okay for a 14 yrold to watch.... considering all of the other things they might have already seen, this is a pretty clean movie.
its about a prostitute who is picked up by a rich guy. he pays her to stay a week, maybe more. during that time, he has her cleaned up, takes her out to a bunch of places, treats her like a woman, a human.... they kinda fall in love.
the movie has one, maybe 2 slightly nude scenes. genitalia and breasts are never shown, just a nude body from the back.. they talk about sex. they mention condoms, and flavors... the rich guy asks if the prostetute is using drugs... there is a scene where some guy is ready to rape the prostetute, but he is clothed.
its a good movie. ...

Pretty Woman is a movie worth watching. However, due to the subject matter and certain scenes, it would not be OK for a 14 year old to watch it. It's a love story, one about a prostitute and her client who fall in love with each other.

What many people are leaving out is that the rich man, played by Richard Gere, is paying her for a week not to have sex with her, but to be his escort/girlfriend/what have you at public functions. He needs a girl at his side, is willing to pay for it, and she accepts. He has no intention of getting physically involved with her.
As for glamorizing the life of a prostitute...hardly! It shows how for most prostitutes, it's a dangerous life filled with drugs, alcohol, and plenty of nasty characters. Julia Roberts' character is saved from this lifestyle.
I think the movie's okay for a 14 year old. Like someone said before me, it's pretty tame compared to today's standards. C'mon, folks, it's a Gary Marshall film! Also, let's face it: the 80's fashions are just flat out hysterical!
I think Pretty Woman is a great film, and well worth watching!!

Well it does feature a prostitute (Julia Robert's character) which parents might think is glamourizing the life. If you ignore that, then it is pretty tame be today's standards. Brief nudity, some language and drug use.
The plot is pretty much Cinderella minus the shoe and wicked step-mother and step-sisters . The fairy godmother has been replaced by Hector Elizondo's character (the manager of a Beverly Hills Hotel who polishes Robert's rough character into a gem). Unfortunately predictable, but a good date movie. 2.5 stars out of 5.

it depends on what you want your 14yr old to know. Personally Idon't see anything wrong with a 14yr old seeing it. It is my favorite movie .Kinda like an updated version of cinderella minus the fairy god mother add a stripper lol j/k

a man hires a prostitute and falls in love with her, it makes whores into sympathetic misunderstood heroines, if you think that's a message you want a young girl to get, i personally wouldn't recommend it. it's a bad movie anyway.
