that's very interesting, that i couldn't find it in searches. however, since nintendo started to put in chips in licensed games to prevent game genie from working, any games that it worked on were made before the game genie, unless it's a game made by a company other than nintendo.

given that, i'd have to bet it was around 1993 that the nintendo version of the game genie was being sold. there was a lawsuit that nintendo lost, claiming that the game genie changed the game, and therefore, the properties of the game being changed would create a different game, and copyright issues, blah blah blah.
