In my house we all incorporate green into our clothing somehow, and then we eat potatoes, corned beef, and cabbage. When I was younger my mom would put a baked potato in my lunch, which was usually cold and gross by noon, but it brought up the topic of the potato famine at the lunch table. Also, you could try to do some fun things- eat a chocolate potato cake (really yummy), or dye part of your dinner green. If you have young kids, you could do some sort of a leprechaun pot of gold hunt with a bag of pennies as the prize.

I live near St Louis, MO and every year since 1998 I go with my best friend and her family to the St Patty's day Dogtown Parade - it is always ON St. Patty's day (never the saturday before or after like the lame wannabe's).
Her family is in the parade so I walk with their clan and then at the end we go to Seamus McDaniel's and stand around with this huge crowd of people and eat and drink!
I am 1/4 Irish but I feel 100% that day!

I love St. Patrick's Day!! I have celebrated for years, a great reason for a party. I have a leprechaun outfit complete with the hat and I have many St. Patrick beads with shamrocks and such. I usually meet friends and eat ,drink and be merry.
