Was there any way to prevent his death? Was he betrayed by his men or anyone? If yes, then who was it?

Tipu Sultan Fight With Tiger

On May 4th,1799, the british army aided by the betrayers broke throught the defending walls and Tipu Sultan died fighting.

Tiger Tipu died in battle with British(East India Company recruits).He was betrayed by his artillery men who were bribed by British before start of battle

He was a brave warrior. But, he had far too many enemies within India and none came to his rescue, when he was overwhelmed by the British might.

Sir Walter Scott, commenting on the abdication of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1814, wrote: "Although I never supposed that he (Napoleon) possessed, allowing for some difference of education, the liberality of conduct and political views which were sometimes exhibited by old Haidar Ally, yet I did think he (Napoleon) might have shown the same resolved and dogged spirit of resolution with induced Tippoo Saib to die manfully upon the breach of his capital city with his sabre clenched in his hand."[

The great patriot Tippu died fighting the war with the British army.People say that he fought like a tiger along with his sepoys . If you go to Srirangapatnam, you can see the place where his body was found in a pool of his sacred blood.He was wounded to the core and he kept on fighting literally till the last drop of his blood.Great man, indeed !!!

I do not know exactly wat happened as my knowledge is limited to the serial which saw years ago about him. he died in battle with Brithisers. and yes he was betrayed by Frenchs. they had promised Tipu that they will help him in battle but during the war they refused to help because of their colonial interest in other part of the world. actually Frenchs were not interested in making clash with Britain.
