RLP: You can dance around the question all you want a D&C is an abortion!!!!

If fertilization occured under the laws of the Catholic church it's abortion!!!!

The fact of the matter is ed----female military personnel have been raped by male military personnel before and many times nothing was done about it!!!

Sexual harrassment occurs often in our miltary!!!

It's just swept away and not publicly addressed unless the victim makes it public!!!

And don't even try to tell me I don't know what I am talking about because it happened to a very good friend of mine!!!

This is a hard question to answer because it is not nearly as cut and dry as most people think it is! There is a lot of difference of opinion, for one thing, regarding when life begins. A very good friend of mine said that he believes that life begins when there are brain waves, indicating that the fetus is thinking. I think that is a pretty good gauge. I believe that the body not who or what we are, and the soul is what really counts, so life begins when an individual soul has definitely decided that he or she wants to use that body. I am pro-choice, but I agree with my friend that late term abortions are not cool, and probably should not be allowed, unless there is a serious medical condition in the mother which makes abortion a matter of life or death for the mother. Sometimes things like this are not found in the early stages of a pregnancy. I think, however, that under ordinary circumstances, a woman should know well before the end of the second trimester, whether or not she wants to carry the baby to full term.

Like I said, it is a complicated issue, and I really think that it should not be for the government to say. I think that it should be between the woman and her doctor, and the government needs to stay out of it!

rape and child molestation have always been acceptable grounds but there are preventative procedures before that can assit, now in your case Ed-Troll you present a great argument for post partum abortions. How can you cry about war , fail to serve and find out, then support kiiling of the unborn. I fought and served so that you might have the right to free speach, even if it comes out of your backside and not you mouth

I believe the military would authorize an abortion in a military hospital under those conditions.

I fail to see how one person committing rape justifies another person committing murder.

Your question has actually been considered by our military for centuries. That's one of the reasons given for prohibiting women from direct combat roles.

Edit:
If abortion isn't murder, what is it? You have a life, then you don't. Unless you can tell me the exact moment that child becomes a person, then how can you tell me you haven't killed anyone?

3000 soldiers killed in 4 years.
4000 babies killed every day.

Both of those numbers bother me. But at least the soldiers chose to do what they do, and they died for something more important than someone's convenience.

No! absolutely not! Being raped is trauma enough! add to it the murder of the unborn, don't you think that would only make things worse. An abortion will not take away the pain and agony of a rape.

Of course not. Killing innocent human beings, whether in the womb or in Iraq, is wrong.

Abortion is not murder, no matter how much one pretends it is; it isn't.

There are procedures that are done right after a rape that make an abortion unnecessary. ( D & C)
If you want us to agree to a circumstance for an abortion - try again.
