the New York Rangers... wins, losses, and standings is not everything. The Rangers are a more respected team. They have a better history, and many of the greats have played at Madison Square Garden. The Rangers are one of the original 6 teams...The fishlanders dont have any history, nor tradition. And even right now the Rangers have two future hall of famers on their team (Jagr and Shanahan). So the Rangers were and always will be the better team.

The Rangers' best players are better than the Islanders' best players, but the Isles have better depth and balance in their lineup. Dipietro's more athletic in goal, but Lundqvist is more consistent.
The Rangers are better when Jagr is doing his thing, but Jagr hasn't done his thing much this season. The Islander powerplay had been their achilles heel all year, but it just got more impressive with the addition of Smyth.
The two teams have 4 games left against one another and if either hopes to make the playoffs, they'll need to go through the other. I guess we're about to find out which team is better...

The Islanders because they are creating a buzz with the city, they made the biggest move at the trade deadline, and they are playing with heart and as a team. The Rangers are underachieving and don't seem to care.

Islanders! The Rangers are having problems! Jagar is the T.O. of hockey. He says his shoulder hurts so he can't play in the shoot outs. Whats that all about? The Islanders are more of a team.

i still think the rangers are better, they're a stronger team i think, you know, just better players. but they've been playing rather lousy lately, so the islanders have been doing better, but i still think the rangers are a better team, maybe they just haven't been trying hard enough, or just had a lot of bad luck or something like that!

Islanders - they have a chance @ the playoffs and they now have Ryan Smyth. Ted Nolan is a good coach so they are the team to be afraid of come playoff time.

The Rangers .....Jagr, Shanahan, Straka ........and their GM isnt a lunatic x-goalie who took one to many pucks to the head before signing an average goalie to an insane contract.

Islanders, because their GM is great : 3 good moves (one great : Smyth) in a week.
The idea is to bring money home, so they have to get in playoffs.
