Don't worry too much at my first visit I was 14 weeks(3 mths,2 wks) and they couldnt hear my baby's heartbeat on the doppler which I'm assuming is was, but whats strange is that they didnt do a ultrasound or transvaginal ultrasound to hear the baby to make sure everything was okay which is what they did with me. If this happens agin don't leave until they do. Congrats and Good Luck!

If they were using a sonogram then they should have heard the heartbeat. If it was the doppler, then I wouldn't worry. She's only about 10 weeks and sometimes the doppler doesn't pick it up until 12 weeks.

Dont worry, all doctors these days use dopplers. What is she 10 , 11 weeks something like that, if they were worried they would have sent her for a emergancy ultrasound. It is common for OBs to not even try to find it until 13 weeks.

Her pregnancy may not be as far as she thinks. Sometimes doctor could not find a heartbeat in the baby until 10 wks or so...If you are worried you shall seek for second opinion in the meantime ask your doctore what they think as well.

it depends on how far along she it. sometimes in the first months its hard to find a heartbeat since the fetus is so small- therefor the heart is small. an adult heart is only this size of a fist- think about an unborn child. anyway, i wouldnt worry too much unless they cant find the heatbeat at the next appt. if the doc said dont be worried about it, dont stress bad. its bad on the baby.

as long as the doctor wasn't worried, i wouldn't be either. she's still very early in her pregnancy and the baby could have just moved. if your doctor thought something was wrong, they would have done an ultrasound or done some further tests to make sure that everything is alright. RELAX!! you're gonna have plenty more to worry about in a few months!!

If there was a problem, believe me, you'd know. The doctor would have told you they need to do more tests or whatver to determine that the baby was all right. Not hearing the heartbeat is not uncommon this early on in pregnancy.

The baby can easily be in a position that makes it difficult to detect the heartbeat. Also if the Mommy is overweight that will affect the equipment's ability to detect the heartbeat also.

Trust me the doctor will let u know when there is a problem.
Just for the record her medical insurance has nothing to do with her care. All insurances (even state issued insurances) give you the same basic care
