xD forget that, how about the jerks that post rude questions that mock people who have serious quesitons? omfg, or like the guy who said "my gf hit her head and was knocked unconsious while we were having sex, should I have stopped" SERIOUSLY, WHAT KIND OF JERK WOULD REALLY DO THAT? XD; I have no idea if he was serious or being a jerk but really, yahoo questions is for people that need answers that are more complicated than a simple google search. totally agree.

People are from various backgrounds, life experiences. Most people at yahoo want to have a little fun. Some are serious, some not, but that is the nature of Yahoo.
You seem like you want to talk about more serious life, world issues. Which is nice. Why don't you ask yahoo, or ask Google or even do it yourself that one of those free web page building sites. Set up a sit that only allows more serious questions. I'd go there when I was in the mood for more intellectual talk.
I don't like all the mean answers some give. I don't like the celebrity stuff either. But I like that some people post real question have real life concerns. Would some do better going to more professional sights, yes. Would some be happier on bashing sights, yes, as some tend to want to bash everyone over every comment or question.
Yahoo is the way it is, because you have people from 13 to 100 or older. You have people from all over the US and other parts of our world. You have people who are young and immature and just bored and want to have something to do, so they post questions or answer people's questions with flip or even cruel answers.
Find the issues you like, then search those questions for ones that actually interest you. I probably search through a hundred before I answer even one. I tend to look for people whom I think have sincere questions or may need a little help and maybe to direction to a web sit where they can find better and more professional answers.
And yes, there are a lot of teens it seems who don't want to do their own homework, so they type in questions from homework and want others to do it for them. I simply don't answer any question that even sound like it could be a homework question.

Narrow your Answer threads. I answered the "left ocean" question and the best I can tell is that it may have been from someone that spoke English as a second language, perhaps...
'Thought provoking' takes time and most folks will not stop and delve into the meat/center of an argument.
I read an article recently that proposed that due to all of the 'teaching to the test' (TAKS,etc) our younger students have lost the component of investigation and creativity in their data mining, both electronic and hard copy.

It all pretty much comes down to lazy. You know what you want to ask but you don't wanna research it to find the answer. You find a ****** to do it for you. Maybe they should make this so that you can't copy urls and then just click on them. But unfortunately when you do need one then it won't be allowed. I think most of the questions are posted by kids that just are too lazy. And if they can put in a question and then run off and play playstation while somebody else is doing the work for them then by all means why not? Such a shame. I read a thing about dumbing down. It's sad but true. We are just ruining ourselves and our kids. We're doomed pretty much.

Your tag line wasn't a question, though you asked a few, later. This is just the way it is.
Some folks are lazy, uninspired, shallow, immature and missing good old common sense.
Still, you get 2 pts. for answering and 10 pts. for best.
That is some consolation.
There have been enough thought-provoking and some mind-bending questions to keep me busy.
You just have to know where to look. FYI: (Don't go to Chinese Guy's suggested question.)
Long live the revolution!

There is rarely such thing as a stupid question, for there is always an answer to the question, thus you are capable of learning about what you asked. The only stupid questions are the ones not answered or not asked.
I don't see how this is helping anyway, since someone is always willing to be nice enough to answer the question regardless.

Yes ur right, this is only to share and to bring a lot of thought provoking answers and not for the others, there are answers were we can easily find out instead of posting and taking many days to get one.

A teacher once told me that the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. What you put is no better than some of the questions, all you did was basically rant about things on here. I suggest if you don't like it, then you could leave or just ignore their questions.

Yeah well, I guess it's true.
STUPID IS STUPID
Since it take a longer time to type the questions than to google it.
If they ask these questions, someone will just google it and copy it for them. LOL
