Last January, I attended my friend's 60th birthday (theme: the 60's) and I just made up my own "costume". I wore the shortest skirt I have (black mini), put on my husband's old tie-dyed tee (psychedelic colors), put on my knee-high black boots, and bought the brightest yellow ribbon I could find and wrapped it around my forehead. For effects, I also bought a cheapie kid's mini sling purse with a big bright yellow flower. I spent $7.95
(+ tax). I wasn't being cheap; I was just being practical. If I buy a new outfit, when will I wear it again? BTW, I did spend over $250 in my air fare (the party was in CA, I live in TX), plus the gift.

So, girl, check your closet...and if you do need to buy, go to the thrift shops. Get your ideas from the web (costumes.com) but don't buy there - it's not exactly cheap.

Have fun, flower child! Make love, not war!

I would look on ebay....that is the only place I have seen 60's outfits, also try costume stores. Other than that I don't know of anywhere else because I am way into 60's and 70's clothes but had no luck at all except for those places. Good luck on your search:)

Thrift stores are the way to go. If you go to a resale or consignment store, you'll pay a lot more than if you scour your local thrift shops. There are usually Salvation Army or AMVETS thrift stores in most towns.
Good luck!

u could try some really swell vintage or retro clothes.
or u could try something quirky.

take a simple top n accersorise it.or just perk up ur normal outfits with cute red suspenders or a cute hat.
