How do you pay for cosmetic surgery? Do some doctors allow you to pay on a payment plan or do you put it on a credit card .....???

thanks to everyone who gave me the answer to the question I was asking!

For those of you that gave me your unsolicited opinion about cosmetic surgery, spare me. I'm not a 18 year old looking for bigger boobs. Believe it or not there are reasons for cosmetic surgery other than vanity, and as far cosmetic surgery changing "everything about me".....I suppose it could be true if I was a vapid, shallow, ego maniac who had nothing else to contribute other than my looks.

first you have to find a doctor that you want the procedure done with. after that, you have to see if they have a company that does thier financing. then you make the decision if the interest rate is higher on the loan they want to give you for the procedure or the credit card interest rate....also, a few surgeons offer discount if you pay in full /cash before your surgery date, which is the incentive to get the cash on your own. most doctors don't set up a payment plan, but the finance company sets the payment for you. make sure though that the company is legit, and more importantly the surgeon is paid by the company before your procedure(s).....good luck on your surgery!!!

I'm not sure how the payment plans work with cosmetic surgery, but please do make sure that the doctor has the right credentials. I believe that dr's that are board certified in plastic surgery are supposed to have passed a national certification test to prove competency. It seems that almost any dr can claim that they are a cosmetic surgeon. Good luck

P.S. I just wanted to reiterate what someone else said about really giving your going thru with cosmetic surgery a great deal of more thought. The results can and will be permanent and one can have complications or have mishaps occur with even the most competent dr. Just a precautionary ;)

Most legit plastic/cosmetic surgeons have an account with CareCredit which is credit card supplied by GECC (GECC supplies credit cards for dept stores, furniture stores, etc in that store's name). Carecredit offers plans which would be like a car or mortgage payment where you pay X amount per month. If the cosmetic or plastic surgeon you are seeing does not have affiliations with them then they may not be as legit as you think.

I just took out a personal loan with a low interest rate. I've only ever paid for surgery on a credit card once and the interest was ridiculous, I wouldn't recommend it.

Take care : )

That's how I'm doing it ( by payment plan) I'm a male and I'm going for gynecomastia surgery. Only do it if YOU really want it, don't let other people pressure you into it. In my case I have wanted this done for years.

yes, it is common for board certified plastic surgeons to accept credit cards, and some would have tie ups with financing companies.
