but i'm only 5 1/2 weeks and at night while i'm relaxing i find that my tummy swells, hardens and i find it hard to breath. theres no pain but its uncomfortable. is that normal???

Well at 5 weeks the top of your uterus is still way below your belly button, so if you are swelling on your tummy, it's not related to your pregnancy,

r u sure it's pregnancy related?? it's WAY too early to be feeling anything whatsoever in that area so if that's what is happening then i'd ask your doctor ASAP. there could be something wrong or it could be in your head. i've heard a lot of people thinking that they're feeling all of the "pregnancy feelings" only to find out that they weren't feeling anything at all. our bodies are crazy things and if you're obsessing over being pregnant then your body will eventually have a physical reaction to it without you even realizing you're doing anything at all.

sounds like a common pregnancy symptom... SEVERE GAS! sorry hun, but ,my best advice is stay hydrated and drink tons of water, it will help keep swelling down as well the further into the pregnancy you get! oh and try not find out which foods make you gassy and avoid them, good luck!

go see a doctor and explain what you did here, see if there is a problem
