If you mean do they want to be or aspire to be.........definitely not. I know I'm not speaking for all the Canadians, but I can clearly see the benefits of Canada vs. the US. The racial tolerance, better (but not perfect) healthcare system, better public education and subsidies for higher education, and a more culturally mixed population with less social class and race struggles...Better health standards for things like food preparation and medicine approval etc.....and just a healthier mix of food in general. More oil (our own) pretty good employment opportunities etc. I like the country.
I've been to the U.S. a lot of times too, so that list just includes what I've seen.

Well..I'm Canadian and have been living in the US now for 12 years and am appalled by what I've seen here.

So I love my Canadian history but have decided to become an American citizen.

Reasoning you ask......

I want to actually be able to complain about something that I tried to change...or make a change whether it be by voting or serving my community in a positive manner.

Thank goodness that the US will recognize my Canadian citizenship as well otherwise I would not like giving it up to become American.

I will be a dual-ly by the end of this year.

And I am actually beginning to feel patriotic to this country. hmmm?

No, I think they are very happy being Canadians and driving across the border whenever they wish... Why would they care about gaining US citizenship, who's afraid of getting deported to back to Canada?!

Where is the love?

I love Canada, and I would like to think that Canada loves me.

My only complaint is that we should not divert suspicious flights to Canada anymore. When did we decide to start doing this? Hey Canada, you got room for another terrorist?

When I was in high school we went to Toronto and in all my travels I've never been to a cooler country yet. And yeah, I mean, COOL. : )

However, most Canadians are accustomed to their way of life, as are we, and I don't think most of them are angling to cross the border.

i don't know if Canadians care or not but we sure get a lot of Canadian over in the states buying all kinds of stuff as things are very expensive in Canada.

my parents came from Canada and I have visited friends who all are not happy with the cost of living in canada...socialism is very strong in canada...

I have a close friend who is originally from Nova Scotia, and it is VERY important for him to have citizenship. Maybe all don't feel the same, but I know that he is very proud of his American Citizenship, as well as his Canadian!

I think we should be one country, we are all pretty much alike anyways. Besides, it would open up more land to hunt on. I like the sound of that.
