So I just started snowboarding a year ago, and am really happy with my board set up for going down the mnt. but my buddy wants to go find some rails and benches and stuff to session on, and I don't want to destroy my good board, so I'm looking for something fairly inexpensive but lightweight and built for rails and such... if anyone has any ideas let me know!

Hi mate,

What you have said above is a good way of going about it!

If you don't have any local shops near to where you live then I would suggest checking out ebay, you can get some great deals on there. Also if you haven't yet seen a new site/forum called Chat Snowboarding http://www.chatsnowboarding.com then check that out!

Hope this helps?

The Forum Streetdweller is a very inexpensive board that you may want to try out. It is only good for jibbing though, and I would not recommend using it anywhere else including jumps. I use mine only for street rails. If you're look for an all around park board, that is specifically for rails but performs adequately on jumps as well, I would go with the Forum Jiblet or Ride Kink. They're moderately priced and made to take a beating.

If you're just starting out jibbing, I wouldn't worry too much about ruining your current board though. It is unlikely that you'll do any significant damage doing 50/50s and board slides. Hope this helps.

Most jib type boards are fairly inexpensive compared to all montain and freeride boards. Some good ones to look oot for are
Ride Kink
Rome Artifact
K2 WWW
Burton Dominant
Bataleon Evil Twin
Atomic Hatchet
Capita Stairmaster
Forum Jiblet
Option Medenhall
Apo Selecta
All these boards are really easy to ride and great for rails and jib type stuff.

Rome Snowboards are especially made for aggressive riders who do rails and jumps. they are very inexpensive, but ride like and expensive board. they have a very soft core and flexible base which will allow you to get plenty of "pop" and be able to do rails without warping your board.

HOPE THIS HELPS
