What do those people hope to gain?

Because they didn't put forth the effort to become productive members of society. As a result, they have way to much time on their hands. This is apparent because they watched that movie to begin with.

because they are stupid... except when Bruice Almighty was in Theaters they didnt use a 555- number they use a acctual number and they had a lawsuit because some people were getting phonecalls asking for God. they changed it to a 555- number later tho.
