How can i fix it or recover files in it???After recover files can i still use it????or is already worthless????is a 80GB harddrive pls help!

the first thing that comes to mind is to reformat the hard drive and re-install the operating system, but since i or we haven't any idea of what type of os you are using, what type of computer you are using , kinda limits the answer.

If its an error in your NTFS file system then thats pretty terminal. There might be some program out there to recover files so try googling for it.

First, try starting in safe mode by pressing F8 just before Windows starts.

try to intialize the disk if it is not showing up in 'my computer'

go to options>control panel>administrative tools(in classic view)>computer management

on the left side near the bottom you will see disk management. click it and you will see all the drives installed, intialized or not.

if it is there, you should be able to work with it and try to get it active.
