But I believe 'Big Brother' is gathering files on people with their medical, credit information, phone records - including tracking movements through cell phones based on what towers are used, etc etc.

Oh for sure! On your drive to work they can actually trace you by using the traffic cameras and that is just the tip of the iceberg! There are building security cameras, stores, banks etc the list goes on and on!
